CRITICAL RECEPTION ON KHADİJA ABUBAKAR JALLİ'S "THE LİFE CHANGER"

"..the lecturers had been foolishly recycling the same questions with minor modification."

The above line painfully captures my in-depth curiosity into the Jalli's text, The Life Changer. Khadija is such an elegant and brilliant woman to whom thousand of the same genders need to be copied from.

The text is not only centers on the transitional achievement of so-called universities manias but also the woeful cankerworms of some problematical lecturers who are in the stage of total stupor when comes to the seducive matriarchal society — and towards the arcane recycling of Examination Questions. Although, Jalli creates a kind of stereotype in ExamQuestions recyclability by the lecturers.

In a matter fact, not all lecturers murder education — but minors out of majority —if this having to be truth, Jalli sounds it lucid to the literary world that there is rocket damages in a verge of Nigerian Education. And she adds "cramming" is worthy bridge in students' academic space and it helps them to embark onto the journey of successful completion of their semesterial courses. And l believe with a friend on FaceBook, he claimed that Cramming is the backbonel in Nigeria's universities for the students to bag sparkling grades in their respective area of expertise than the utilisation of their (students') personal experiences about the taught courses.

Khadija's advocacy of recycling exams questions gives massive insights at the time of project or any other academic writings: due to the little or unconfident in educational researche areas whereas sudents end in plagiarism. That is why, most of the academic researches are subjectives not objectives — not fall in the categories of the research for impact — let say a problem(s) solving-based. Evidently, due to the recurrences of these problems, I salute to the technological scientist, Humanities for trying to shun away from this rage. And for the humanitist, their optimistic work of scattering their student-researchers to travel into plethora of Literary Theories in order to work on book based on guidelines of a given tenets which might require human idiosyncrasies; In fact, the neediness of educational renovation is highly beckoned — if that is the case. Khadija summons all Jambites (students) through powerful characterisation of her son (Omar) 250's scorer The Life Changer is not only reflects on the issues of youth journey for the sake of self-understanding or being in a Lucky league of good friends, but also it teaches how parents should monitor the egos of their children before enrolling into the vast compounds of universities. Khadija, as a narrator of the text, psychological travels with her children to the comprehensive station of University (ies) life (lives) when her son, Omar, SCORED 250 in his JAMB Exam. By her readiness in her son's predilection of becoming university gentleman — and his strong zeals to read LAW ; makes him to brag at his sister's(Teemah's) sense of teasing.

She (the Khadija) teaches them (her children) thoroughly into the long storytelling : that serves as the tool to maintain the cheerful atmosphere of the environment till the arrival time of their father. All of her narration focus on these interrogative mood : how to live with coursemates , roommate or any other persons of here and there dormitories, and to be mouthcared and readable in social attitude before befriending any one. And she also instills the sense of judgement into her childrens'(/readers) minds. As she reinforces "..do not judge book by its cover.." She recommends that socialisation is good, reprimand is the rule, cunningness is the great element to succeed in life.

Khadija's apperception on the opening and ending sentences in The Life Changer?

Chapter One "They were waiting for dad We were ..." And....

Chapter Eleven
" They will wait for Dad"

Who is initially waiting for Dad?what he(Omar) will tell him? It is all about his Jamb score, and his willingness to purchase him a smartphone. Since his life begins changing because of having a foot to step in to the University. So let his Dad acknowledge that and purchase him a thing that help him to realize that his life is changing. Though, the narrator do not tell the readers how her son scored such opulence marks in JAMB but the procedures are well known to all.

The author literarily shows the familial hierarchy where she astutely designs Father as a panel of judge in house. While the Mother as an attorney which forwards the registered sues and proposals that need to be digested and endorsed within the family. And she Ironically reflects a woman voice of pain for the prolongation of today's husbands outside of their houses. While their life partners anchor themselves with noises of their children.

Phenomenology Criticism{ a theory of common sense) in Jalli's work,The Life Changer.

•Working hard to achieved a target goal(s) is one's Life Changer.

 • Mothers are the first tutors of their children. And having a mutual conversation with their children helps to dig out the hidden truth and thoughts from the children. Sitting with children is the best solution to understand them.

 • Writer herself, through her narration and saga of her educational career flashes that woman need to know herself in and out so as to escape from the men plights.

 • Beware, every bit of time, the life changes and so the system.
